The Department is responsible for: • Re-opening, establishment and takeover of Schools in all various communities in the State • Training of Education Officers/Managers • Periodic review of Books for primary and secondary schools • Monitoring the compliance with recommended texts in primary and secondary schools • Publication of Educational Journals • Conducting Annual School Census (ASC) • Conducting School Mapping • Analyzing WASSCE/NECO SSCE Results • Managing Educational Data. • Monitoring ICT development in Schools. • Monitoring of the Digital Repositioning of Education through ICT in all Secondary Schools in the State. • Screening of eligible candidates for WASSCE Registrations • Coordinating UNICEF activities in the Education Sector • Carrying out Education sector analysis. • Preparing Annual Budgets of the Ministry • Developing, Reviewing and Implementing Sector Plans
